ORLANDO, Fla. – Bio-Tech Consulting Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm serving clients throughout Florida and the Southeastern United States, today announced that it secured a three-year maintenance contract for exotic plant eradication services at Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve in Hillsborough County, Fla. Hillsborough County awarded the contract to Bio-Tech Consulting via the “Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve Exotic Plant Eradication Services” bid as prepared and presented by the Hillsborough County Business and Support Services Department.

The three-year maintenance contract adheres to a detailed four-step process as required by Hillsborough County in order to eliminate exotic plant species within the boundaries of the Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve. Step 1 requires mowing and mulching operations to prepare the site for initial spraying and treatments. Step 2 is the initial spraying, which is followed by Step 3 that stipulates re-treatments for any re-growth of exotic plants. Finally, Step 4 mandates ongoing quarterly maintenance and spray treatments to completely eradicate all exotic plant species within the preserve by the end of year-three.

“Certainly, Bio-Tech Consulting is excited to be working with Hillsborough County on this extended project,” said John Miklos, president of Bio-Tech Consulting. “We’re also looking forward to continuing our relationship and working with the county on future projects.”
