ORLANDO, Fla. – Bio-Tech Consulting Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm headquartered in Orlando, Fla. with offices throughout the state, today announced that the Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District re-elected the company’s president, John Miklos, to the position of Chairman of the Board for a record fourth-consecutive term
In March 2010 Governor Crist appointed Miklos to an at-large seat for a four-year term on the Governing Board, and in March 2014 Governor Scott reappointed him to an additional four-year term. The Governing Board first elected Miklos as Chairman in November 2013 and re-elected him to the position in November 2014, November 2015 and November 2016. Miklos will serve as Chairman of the Board through November 2017.
Board members are appointed by the Governor of the state of Florida to four-year terms and confirmed by the Florida Senate. The Chairman of the Board position is voted on annually by fellow Governing Board members, and this group of volunteer advocates meets monthly at the district headquarters in Palatka, Fla. to set general policies of operation for the St. Johns River Water Management District.
“I am extremely honored and humbled to be re-elected by my Governing Board peers,” said John Miklos, president of Bio-Tech Consulting and Chairman of the Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District. “Together, we have attained many significant milestones including lowering millage rates each of the past four years, reducing permit review times, and working with area farmers, ranchers and homeowners on water conservation projects that will benefit the entire community for years to come. Going forward, I’m excited to work with the district and the Governing Board on even more important projects that will contribute to the health and quality of our valuable water resources.”
As president and senior project manager of Bio-Tech Consulting, Miklos advises clients on issues involving wetlands, uplands, wildlife, water quality, land management, land development, aquatic maintenance, and permitting with various regulatory agencies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Limnology from the University of Central Florida and has more than 24 years of professional experience.
