– John Miklos will serve as Chairman of the Board through November 2016 –
ORLANDO, Fla. – Bio-Tech Consulting Inc., a full-service environmental consulting firm headquartered in Orlando, Fla. with offices throughout the state, today announced that its president, John Miklos, was unanimously re-elected by the St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board to the position of Chairman of the Board for a third-consecutive term.
In March 2010 Governor Crist appointed Miklos to an at-large seat for a four-year term on the Governing Board, and in March 2014 Governor Scott reappointed him to an additional four-year term. The Governing Board first elected Miklos as Chairman in November 2013 and re-elected him to the position in November 2014 and November 2015. Miklos will serve as Chairman of the Board through November 2016.
Board members are appointed by the governor of the state of Florida to four-year terms and confirmed by the Florida Senate. The Governing Board meets monthly to set policies of operation for the St. Johns River Water Management District.
“The work of everyone at the District continues to expand not only in volume, but also in scope. During my previous two years as Chairman, I have seen incredible strides made toward furthering the mission of protecting our cherished water resources,” Miklos said. “As we move forward into 2016, I know the Governing Board and the entire District staff are more committed than ever to ensuring sustainable use of our area resources for the benefit of everyone in our District – for years to come.”
As president and senior project manager of Bio-Tech Consulting, Miklos advises clients on issues involving wetlands, uplands, wildlife, water quality, land management, land development, aquatic maintenance, and permitting with various regulatory agencies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Limnology from the University of Central Florida and has more than 23 years of professional experience.
