CCMI Appoints William Precht to New Independent Scientific Committee

The Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI) is honored to announce the appointment of William Precht to its newly established Independent Scientific Committee. Given his expertise in coral ecology and restoration, Mr. Precht was invited to join this new initiative.

The committee will serve as an advisory body to CCMI’s research team. It will provide guidance on current topics in marine science and advise on research proposals. The committee will also help promote CCMI as a premier fieldwork destination for marine researchers and identify potential funding opportunities.

Gretchen Goodbody-Gringley, CCMI’s Director of Research, commented, “We would be honored to have you contribute to this initiative.” She added that his insights and experience would be “invaluable” in helping to advance the mission of protecting and restoring the oceans through science and education.
