
Mark is Vice President, Regulatory & Wildlife Sciences at Bio-Tech Consulting with more than 26 years of experience, including 11 years with the company, covering all aspects of environmental planning and permitting. His expertise encompasses jurisdictional wetland determinations, threatened and endangered species surveys/permitting, mitigation planning, and water quality monitoring—enabling him to manage innovative solutions for land development.
Mr. Ausley’s technical experience covers environmental planning, permitting, wetland determinations, threatened and endangered species surveys (including UMAM analysis), mitigation plan development, and water quality monitoring and documentation.
He is skilled in setting seasonal high-water elevations (SHWEs) and vegetative mapping. His background includes serving as president/owner of an environmental consulting firm and holding senior scientist and wildlife biologist roles at other firms prior to joining Bio-Tech Consulting.
As Project Manager, Mr. Ausley has managed complex environmental services for large mixed-use communities like Avalon Park Daytona Beach and planned developments such as Solivita Grand, handling wildlife surveys, permitting, and mitigation planning with agencies like SJRWMD, SFWMD, USACE, and EPA. He has managed the logistical planning and comprehensive environmental permitting (wetlands, protected species surveys/relocations) for sensitive sites like the Space X Launch Complexes. His responsibilities include managing wildlife survey programs and contractor training initiatives.
