Environmental Site Assessments

Prior to your next land acquisition or development project getting started, it is often necessary to conduct a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment. In fact, many banks and lenders require an Environmental Site Assessment as part of their due diligence processes. And before beginning most development, an Environmental Site Assessment may be required to determine and document environmental impacts, if any, of your proposed project.

Wetlands Mitigation

The Water Management Districts, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers require compensation (i.e., mitigation) for wetland impacts associated with any development. It is often difficult to find wetlands mitigation that is the right type and/or location to satisfy an agency’s requirements.

Bio-Tech Consulting has the solutions. With extensive experience with wetlands mitigation and related permitting, we have access to many mitigation areas that are approved and/or authorized by local, state and federal agencies and available for your use. Contact us today for information regarding or availability, estimated costs, and/or assistance in solving the impact or mitigation issues associated with your project.

Wetlands Mitigation Locations Include:

  • Lake Jessup Basin
  • South Ocklawaha Basin

Aquatic Management

Ponds, lakes and waterways can be beautiful assets to virtually any property – if they are well-maintained. Don’t let aquatic plants, weeds or algae takeover these resources. Bio-Tech Consulting is adept at providing proactive solutions to all common, and not-so-common, problems that can plague your liquid assets.

A common and serious problem may occur when Hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata) invades a Florida lake. Hydrilla is a submergent invasive exotic plant that can form dense floating mats and shade out native species and alter the lake’s natural condition by lowering oxygen levels and raising water temperature. The introduction of triploid grass carp is an effective means to control Hydrilla. (The transport or possession of triploid grass carp requires a permit).

Throughout Florida and the Southeast, we are fortunate to live amidst an abundance, and wide variety, of wildlife. Unfortunately, some species we encounter are listed as either threatened or endangered. Bio-Tech Consulting works with its clients before, during and after their projects to identify, assess and monitor any threatened or endangered species.
