President of Bio-Tech Consulting Re-Elected to Unprecedented Fifth-Consecutive Term as Chairman of St. Johns River Water Management District

ORLANDO, Fla. – Bio-Tech Consulting Inc. – a full-service environmental consulting firm headquartered in Orlando, Fla. with offices throughout the state – today announced that the St. Johns River Water Management District’s Governing Board re-elected the company’s president, John Miklos, to the position of board chairman for an unprecedented fifth-consecutive term.

“It’s an honor, and it’s certainly a privilege to serve all constituents within the District by working with them to monitor, prioritize and protect our area’s vital water resources,” said John Miklos, president of Bio-Tech Consulting and Chairman of the Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District. “As Chairman, I’m encouraged by the successes the District has attained each of the past four years – from lowering millage rates each year to enacting several important water conservation tactics – and I look forward to working with District staff over the next 12 months on several new programs and processes designed to benefit all communities throughout our region.”

Miklos first was appointed to an at-large seat on the Governing Board of the SJRWMD in 2010, and in March 2014 Governor Scott reappointed Miklos to an additional four-year term. In November 2013 the Governing Board first elected Miklos as board chairman. Miklos was re-elected to the board chairman position in November 2014, November 2015, November 2016 and November 2017. Miklos will serve as Chairman of the Board through November 2018.

Board members are appointed by the Governor of the state of Florida to four-year terms and confirmed by the Florida Senate. The Chairman of the Board position is voted on annually by fellow Governing Board members, and this group of volunteer advocates meets monthly at the district headquarters in Palatka, Fla. to set general policies of operation for the St. Johns River Water Management District.

As president and senior project manager of Bio-Tech Consulting, Miklos advises clients on issues involving water quality, wetlands, uplands, wildlife, land management, land development, aquatic maintenance, and permitting with various regulatory agencies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in limnology from the University of Central Florida and has more than 24 years of professional experience.
